SCARECROW TRAIL

On behalf of the Parish Council, the River Events Committee are delighted to inform residents that a Scarecrow Trail & Open Gardens, is being organised on:

Saturday & Sunday 5th & 6th July 2008

We are looking for residents of River to either make a Scarecrow with a theme of your choice (all entries will go into a prize draw) or open their garden to the public showing off  their wonderful colours, design & displays.

Your scarecrows will need to make their home in your front garden, up trees, on rooftops and in hedges

The scarecrows themselves will be the clues to a competition and a prize draw. Find the scarecrows, identify them and solve the clues to work out the puzzle. Each successfully completed competition form will be entered for the prize draw and there will also be a prize for the best made and presented scarecrows.

Competition Forms/Maps will be sold from the Villiage Hall & Crabble Corn Mill throughout the weekend - adults £2 each, KIDS GO FREE. The proceeds will go to Kent Air Ambulance

For inspiration you could browse the internet - just type in 'Scarecrow Trail' and see what other villages achieved - OR - come along to our workshops.
